Breast Cancer Awareness Days

Why this project

In breast cancer, early diagnosis is the single factor that most changes the success of treatment. Even so, the habit of screening is still not widespread in our region.

What we did

Our general surgery and radiology units held open consultation hours at the hospital throughout October.

• A hands-on explanation of breast self-examination
• Explaining which screening is needed at which age
• One-to-one consultations for those with questions
• Distribution of information leaflets

Outcome

The initiative has been added to our calendar to be repeated every October.
