Social Responsibility Projects
First Aid Training in Schools
We taught basic first aid to students at high schools in Anamur and the surrounding area.
15 April 2025
Why this project
In rural settlements an ambulance can take longer than expected to reach the scene. What the person standing nearby does in that time is often what decides the outcome.
What we did
Our emergency physicians and nurses ran hands-on sessions at high schools in the district. In every session the students practised one by one on a manikin.
- Basic life support and chest compressions
- The Heimlich manoeuvre for choking
- Controlling bleeding and applying a pressure dressing
- The recovery position for an unconscious person
- Calling 112 correctly and describing the location
Outcome
At the request of the participating schools, the training has been added to our programme to be repeated every academic year.
