What is Anaesthesiology and Reanimation?
Anaesthesiology and Reanimation ensures that patients feel no pain during surgery and interventional procedures, and that their vital functions continue safely. The role is not limited to the operating theatre: pre-operative assessment, monitoring during surgery and post-operative pain management are all the responsibility of this department.
Before surgery, the patient’s general health, medication and any chronic conditions are reviewed, and the anaesthetic technique is chosen accordingly.

- Follow the fasting instructions; do not eat or drink unless your doctor says otherwise
- Bring the names and doses of the medicines you take
- Always tell us about any known allergies
- Remove jewellery, prostheses and nail polish
- Arrange for a relative to accompany you
