What is Neurosurgery?
Neurosurgery deals with conditions of the brain, spinal cord, spine and peripheral nerves that may require surgical treatment. Not every condition is treated with an operation; the department’s first task is to reach the correct diagnosis and decide whether surgery is needed at all.
Alongside planned operations, emergency surgery for head and spinal trauma also falls within this department.
