What is Internal Medicine?
Internal Medicine deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the internal organs in adults. It is not always clear at the outset which organ a complaint comes from; internal medicine is often the first point of contact and refers patients onward where necessary.
Long-term follow-up of chronic conditions is also carried out here: diabetes, hypertension and thyroid disease are managed through regular review.
